How Does The Process Work?

I work with my clients over email as it’s convenient with busy day lives and this way, everything said is on record and can’t be missed. If you would prefer to give me a call do go ahead, or you are welcome to visit me at my studio for a small fee and see previous designs. 

 I love to know ALL about you both and your wedding day. If you have any images for inspiration, any swatches, then send them over, the more you give me, the more I have to work with. If you don’t know what you want that fine too! I am here as a guide and will help determine what you do and don’t like, mood-boards are a great way to get an idea of your likes and dislikes.

Please allow 6-8 weeks minimum for completion after booking with Lulabee, the process will be slightly during busy times (Jan -April). Remember every invitation is hand made and treated as a piece of art. It takes time to personally design, consult with clients and produce up to 100+ wedding invitations for one couple!

Design

A non refundable payment is due to cover the design time. I will carefully create up to 2 different designs for you based on our conversation. PDFs of each design will then be sent over with information of everything included, extras available and quotations for each invite. Then we can discuss further, perhaps you liked the colours in design 1, but the style of design 2, that’s the beauty of bespoke, I can change this up until its perfect for you both. ! I will combine and change to your preferences where possible BUT please do bear in mind there is a limitation of design changes, so it’s best to really think about what you’d like to change to the PDF. Of course we can make as many changes as you wish but there will be an additional fee.

You may also want to consider adding a bespoke illustration to your designs. I can create a flower arrangement to suit your flower notes, colours and themes and apply this throughout your stationery. I also work with a lovely local artist (Charlotte) who creates watercolours of buildings. Should you wish to include one of these, just get in touch and I will liaise with Charlotte.

Confirmed wording is not essential at the beginning stage, but wording will need to be sent over in order for design work to start as it is a great help when it comes to sizing and layouts. When you are ready to move onto the Design stage I will send a link for you to fill out your wording, as well as a help page from my website. Once we have the design sorted confirmed wording will need to be confirmed so I can apply this to final designs.  

Once you are happy with the design I will send you a hard copy in the post, it is always great to see them in person. Please note this is not always possible with all designs, so there could be an additional fee IF you think its necessary to see a hard copy. You will however always see final PDFs before we go to print. If there is a mistake on the artwork it is your responsibility to check this (you can find more details on the T&Cs on the website). I will then send over your invoice, where 50% of this is due to allow production to start.

- Create & Complete - 

Once the 50% payment has been made, production will start and materials will be ordered. Please allow 3-4 weeks from payment date to completion. I will always keep you up to date with the progress.  Once the invitations are ready, the remaining 50% is due plus postage (or collection) and your very important parcel will be shipped to you. I will also include an extra invitation as a keepsake, so don’t forget to get your wedding photographer to take a photo of it on your wedding day!
